Whether your school is off at the end of May or the first week of June, a break from the routine is a treat for all. With just a week to spare, time is everything and Europe is the natural choice, so here’s a helpful guide to half-term holiday destinations with weekend flights but without the jet-lag.
Where is the best weather in Europe at half term?
Our choice for the most reliable sunshine holidays in Europe at half term would be a villa in Italy, France, Corsica, the Algarve, Mallorca or Greece. It's Goldilocks weather around the Med and southern Portugal: not too cold and not too hot, with daytime temperatures hitting up to about 24C, perfect for tender young skins. It's easily warm enough to lunch outside and swim in the sea, and if your kids want to spend all day in the water, choose one of our many villas with a heated pool for maximum holiday fun.
Half-term holidays in Mallorca
Mallorca enjoys green landscapes and warm weather in May. Just a short flight from the UK, you’ll soon settle in to your comfortable villa, with lots of time to just relax by the pool and explore the island’s charming villages and sandy beaches. Mallorca’s dramatic coastline, from the Tramuntana mountains to hidden coves, makes villa-based holidays both relaxing and adventurous.
Corsica villas for May half term
Corsica offers a blend of rugged mountain-scapes and breathtaking beaches. Likely to be a degree or two cooler than say Greece, it’s a great choice for active family holidays, from windsurfing and diving to mountain biking and hiking in the stunning valleys less than an hour from the coast.
